James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
I will admit this passage of scriptures as always challenged me. Count it all joy when trouble comes! Not just one but divers. Our lives are full of temptations. Many times we think of temptations as lust for another person, lust for the gain of this world. Yes, those temptations are there. We also are tempted to lose hope. We are tempted to lose faith when the battle grows long and weary. We can see that God did not leave us without hope. When we are tried our faith can be strengthened. We learn to be more patient. We will see the hand of God working on us and through us. The quote about He’s more concerned about your character than your comfort can be found in this passage. We as humans always want the easy way out. We would like God to just let us have all the things we need to be a Christian. For the most part there is work for us to do. We are to be joyful even in the hard seasons. One reason is it not only helps us to grow in our own journey, it helps others to find the joy they need to press on. Let us count it all Joy!
